Portrait of Tress Remington, founder of 7 Semicolon Couture

My Story – Why I Started The Next Chapter Blog

In 2011, I survived a suicide attempt. Since then, I’ve lost my baby brother, my grandfather, and a close friend to suicide. Out of that pain—and in their memory—I created 7 Semicolon Couture. This blog is the next step in my healing: a place to speak truth, fight stigma, and spread hope.

For years, I wore my grief behind a smile, pushing through life while quietly breaking inside. But healing doesn’t happen in silence. It begins when we speak out, connect, and give ourselves—and others—permission to be seen.

The Next Chapter isn’t just a blog. It’s a safe space for raw honesty, resilience, and remembrance. Here, I’ll open up about my own struggles and victories, the lessons therapy has taught me, and the ways fashion became both an outlet and a lifeline. You’ll also meet my brother through my words—the heartbeat behind everything I do—and see how I’ve turned deep loss into lasting purpose.

If you’ve ever felt invisible, overwhelmed, or alone—I see you. You are not alone. There is strength in speaking up, power in surviving, and beauty in continuing your sentence when it felt easier to end it.

This space is for everyone still healing, still fighting, still here.

Welcome to The Next Chapter.

More of my story is coming soon.

With love,
Tress Remington
